Sweet, refreshing with persistent aroma
Twelve-hundred years ago, the tea of Meng Ding Mountain in Sichuan and the Purple Bamboo Shoot (Gu Zhu Zi Sun) of Zhejiang became the earliest teas designated as tribute to the imperial palace. Due to difficulties in transportation at that time, Meng Ding’s tea was especially hard to come by in the common market. The literati all went to great lengths to obtain this tea and each year composed numerous poems to describe the quality tea of Mt. Meng Ding.
Green buds with young and small leaves are picked in the middle of March. The result is an early Spring green tea that is popular among frequent tea drinkers as a good quality “every-day” tea. Meng Ding Mao Feng's aroma is like fried chestnuts paired with wild flowers. It possesses the classic characteristics of teas grown in Sichuan– persistent aroma, rich mouth-feel without bitterness, and a slow infusion. Compared to Huangshan Maofeng, it is much sweeter and more crisp and refreshing.
It could be a valid alternative for the lovers of Bi Luo Chun.
Heat the water 80°C, use 3g per 150 ml and brew for 1/2 minutes. One minute for delicate taste, two minutes for stronger taste. It stands up to three infusions.
Our teas are packed in eco-friendly, recyclable, resealable pouches
