Yellow Tea: The Rarest from China

If you have already tried green tea but want something sweeter, it's time to spoil yourself with a Yellow Tea cup! It is a rare type of tea produced only in China and subjected to light oxidation but the process for making yellow tea requires a lot of skill.

In ancient China, yellow teas were only produced for and consumed by the Emperor and his court during the Ming (1368–1644AD) and Qing (1644 to 1912AD) Dynasties.

As the name suggests, it is yellow in colour, both the leaves and the infusion. Like green tea, yellow tea contains a high level of antioxidants. These help fight the ageing process and can help prevent cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and cancer. Also, Yellow tea is very beneficial for the spleen and stomach and can help to relieve indigestion.
